About Us

Built by an Austin homeowner. For Austin homeowners.

Why We Started This

I'm Giacomo — I own two properties in 78704 (Bouldin Creek and Travis Heights). When I got my 2025 TCAD assessment, I knew it was too high. I looked at hiring a property tax firm, but the fees were absurd — 40% at Resolute, 50% at O'Connor, and even Ownwell takes 25%.

I thought: why does it cost so much to compare some numbers and fill out a form? The evidence is all public data — comparable sales, property characteristics, assessment histories. The process is standardized. The analysis is formulaic.

So I built TaxProtestAustin. Our AI analyzes every comparable property in Travis County — all 492,000+ of them — to build evidence packets that used to take analysts hours to prepare. That's how we charge 20% instead of 40%. Not because we cut corners, but because technology makes it possible.

How We're Different

Austin Only

We don't try to cover all of Texas or 7 states. We know TCAD's methodology, Travis County neighborhoods, and what works at local hearings.

Lowest Fee in Texas

20% of your actual tax savings. No minimums. No upfront costs. $0 if we don't reduce your bill. We adjust for all exemptions.

Smart Technology, Human Review

Our AI analyzes every comparable sale in the county. Every evidence packet is reviewed by our team before filing. You get the best of both.

No Auto-Renewal Games

We don't auto-enroll you for next year. We don't charge for market-driven reductions. We don't bill before your tax bill is final.

Our Commitment

We will adjust your initial assessment and tax rate to reflect all discounts associated with your active exemption(s). You will never be charged for a reduction in your assessed value if your final tax bill is not reduced.

Every case gets the same professional treatment. We file the evidence, attend the hearing, and negotiate the best possible outcome. If we can't save you money, we'll tell you upfront — and you won't owe us a penny.

Based in Austin

We live here. We pay Travis County property taxes too. When TCAD over-assesses our neighbors, it affects our community. That's why we built this — to make professional property tax protests accessible to every Austin homeowner, not just those who can afford a 40% fee.
